Restaurant Nerello in Sicily

If you are looking for a different kind restaurant experience this might be the perfect place! Restaurant Nerello (named after a native Sicilian grape) is the perfect al fresco dining experience with stunning views over the Etna foothills, olive trees and Mediterranean Sea. The inside dining room is decorated just as tasty as the food. The restaurant is part of the Slow food movement and is widely known for its excellent food, superb presentation and exceptional wine list. The staff is well trained, has a great knowledge of what they are serving and the sommelier introduced us to a whole new experience in Sicilian wines. When you are in Sicily and you are a winelover we advise you to try ‘new’ grapes that you might never heard of before like Nerello Mascalese, Carricante or Grillo.

The whole idea about food at this hotel and Restaurant Nerelleo is to create a perfect balance between healthy and tasty food. All bread and pasta are made with special whole weed flour and in a tradition artisan way leaving all vital nutritious elements in the flour.

AzureBooker had a chef’s menu with pairing wines and immediately fell in love with this place! If available we advise you to try the Ragussano cow milk (DOP) pie (way more delicate than it sounds by the way!). If you are looking for a new style of full body rose that van even accompany a good slice of red meat we advise you to drink the Susucaro (14%), a unique Sicilian wine made by a famous local Belgian wine maker!
